15" laptop for watching videos

Sorry if this is a double up, I can't see previous post.
Can anyone recommend a touchscreen laptop with large storage that I can take on trips to watch videos?
Good sound and picture obviously.
Price around $1k but happy to go higher.
TIA

lol 1k? You can go considerably lower. A laptop worthy of simply playing videos is near worthless. I could sell you one for a pretty good price. Do you need warranty etc? Any specific resolution requirements?
You can get one with lower storage and upgrade it fairly inexpensively. Most laptops aren't with the largest storage but you can upgrade.

  • Sounds like you just need a tablet (and a tablet stand) .
No point having a laptop to play videos, if the keyboard is only really being utilized as a stand.
I haven't bought anything for a while, but I would thinks even an ipad 4th gen would be great for watching videos on. That is, if you are streaming.
If you are not streaming, then you possibly want either more onboard storage, or simply a tablet that you can connect a usb storage to.

Have you ever seen a 15-inch tablet?

        Yes SB2

  • I have never really taken any notice of how many inches my tablets are tbh. They do seem to be maximum 12 inches mostly though.

  • HP has a 15.6" line non-touch, from $500, most with 1tb storage. You can search for HP 15 across IT stores for more.

    E.g: HP 15-BW027AU 15.6" Laptop [A6] - $498

    15.6" HD BrightView WLED-backlit Display (1366x768)

    AMD A6-9220 Dual Core Processor (2.5GHz-2.9GHz, 1MB L2 Cache)

    1TB 5400RPM Hard Disk Drive

    8GB DDR4L-1866 SDRAM (1 DIMM)

    • Thanks, but no touchscreen :/

      • HP Envy X360 15-BQ002AU 15.6" 2-in-1 Laptop $1419

        Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080
        Primary Storage Capacity 1TB

The specs and price fit the bill. I'm not sure about its durability and reliability though, just leave it here as a possibility in hope that experienced people can comment on it later.

  • I have an old Toshiba that we chuck in the suitcase. Done us well but sound has never been good and it's starting to get past it. Have an 11" xps that I take for work etc, just use the Toshiba for watching stuff, usually in bed at night with husband who is disabled and also a bit deaf. The granddies play with it when we're home.
We tried watching on the xps but screen too small as we prop it on the bed on a box between us usually.
Also take a 10" Samsung Galaxy for my husband to browse!
So, just want a reliable 15" to replace old one. I'm used to touchscreens so would find it hard not to have one.
