Best NBN Deals at The Moment

Hi OZ Community,

We are finally getting NBN in our area next month. Like many I am sceptical of the level of quality and service the big players offer.

Is there any recommendations and/or offers you can suggest. We have had previously targeted OZBargain offers from the quality smaller providers, hoping to hear from them.

depends more on the location than ISP

I hooked up a prior Telecube deal and have been pretty happy with service. Their offer comes back every few weeks slightly tweaked so expect something similar next month. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/376248

    • This woke perfect for me if it was true unlimited.. I know about fair use policy yada yada but I definitely need the unlimited clause in case I go to crazy town and try and downs the entire whole internet.. You know just in case.

I think I saw TPG with one.

      • what kind of stuff do you download?

It will mostly be steam library, YouTube videos and Netflix stuff for now but all 4k, some videos also from vimeo and other 4k repositories. Basically 4k stuff.

    • moved to telecube but have been getting 20 or so mbps lately. if i send them an email it gets fixed eventually but happens again.

    • whats wrong with TPG?

Was getting 24mbps for about 3 months of NBN FTTN.

Dropped to 12mbps and was told that was fast as I could expect on my FTTN even though previously I was getting 24mbps. Was told this on a weekly basis for 3 mths.

Got out of my contract and went to MyRepublic and got 28mbps.

Was told I was due $379.95 compensation on the 27th of February. took them til 22nd of May to send it to me a cheque.

Hoping cheque clears Monday and does not bounce.

        That is the short story!

    • Ooh no contract is nice :)

    AussieBB

    • Noticed you got 2 down votes so far, I was under the impression AussieBB was one of the best for speed/service and was about to sign on with them … did I miss something?

You're not wrong. I think OP means best as in cheap and still reliable.

Using TPG NBN50 HFC at Melb, getting 45+Mbps consistently at the moment. Works great for everything except gaming with SEA players (apparently almost 200ms ping, previously on Telstra HFC was bit lower closer down to 100ms, not sure bout Telstra NBN HFC tho). For $70pm unlimited seems okay.

I am getting similar results for NBN100 on HFC too at about 95/37.

TPG, don't have the best routing to Asia or EMEA in general other than Hong Kong and Tokyo, usually everything routes via the US mainland. Hopefully, they eventually invest in a line to Singapore.
