Flights to Brisbane in August. Should I wait?

Just yesterday I was looking up flights to Brisbane in August, and i was getting them for return at ~$130. Today they're up to $200+

Should I wait? Or will it continue to go up?

  • Buy now, not likely to get cheaper from now onwards.

    • Almost certainly will. Airline algorithms. Set promo seats gone, they’ll come back closer to the date of travel.

OP, when it goes down to $130 return again, hit the trigger on it ASAP.

generally prices go up as you get closer to the time, especially if its during a popular period.

    Some cost saving techniques:
    1. If you don't mind flying jetstar, find a tiger airways flight that has a matching (within +/- 1 hour) jetstar flight, and get them to price-beat it (just google for how). I was able to get flights recently for $73 return syd->bris->syd using this method.
    2. If you're a real tightarse, and don't mind an extra 1.5 to 2 hours of travel, you could get a flight to gold coast, then take bus+tram+train into Brisbane (about $15), as sometimes the syd/mel -> gc flights are cheaper than brisbane. Not something I'd really recommend, but a true ozbargainer would consider it, so there it is.

    • what about ticket price at counter on same day flight ?

Their profile says their location is Melbourne.

use a vpn to check prices.

  • wait and try and find somewhere else to go instead
