Scuba diving in Cairns

Greetings OZBs GD willing I'll be going to Cairns mid July and of course I want to Scuba Dive TGBR, I was wondering if anyone could help as to which company would be cheap. Im going with 2 of my friends. We have never gone Scuba diving before. So if anyone could help in that area that would be very helpful as well as any other fun activities in Cairns especially focusing on TGBR. Thanks in advance!

    TGBR was TLDR

  • Cheapest way to do scuba would be in your bath tub, but try https://www.google.com.au/search?q=scuba+diving+cairns and check for reputable places which you get some good training since you haven't done before.

  • I came just for the very obscure Title on the post.

As for SCUBA - are you wanting to do a course and get your PADI or SSI dive licence, or just do resort dive on a boat (two unlicensed divers with an instructor).

I would recommend the "resort" dive as a starter as the course takes 3 days which will eat into your trip, If you like it and want to qualify then you can do the course at a later date. You can even do it in most capital cities around Australia, no need to go north.

We have always booked locally for boats (other than live-aboard dive trips) and you can do this at just about anywhere in Cairns - my best experience was with Tusa Dive.

    • Ya we're just looking for a one off dive. Not looking to be certified or anything

  • Try www.sunlover.com.au
Entertainment Book members get 20% off the standard trip rates (not extras). Just call and state you are entertainment book member when you book. Must be done over the phone for the discount.

    • Does the entertainment book have to be a Cairns one? Or can be done from Sydney one?
Also what other activities are included in this years EB, am considering purchasing just for the trip.I am interested things such as Butterfly park, Aquarium, Kuranda etc. and any other family friendly activities.
