I'll wait for Tonester to tell me what to buy.

You'll probably be waiting a while.

  • Been waiting for this to stack with the Amex deal… How do people rate the wine from this place? Good for the price?

Also, the guy on the live chat said this ends at midnight.

It's a bit of a lottery. I don't think you'll get bad wine as such, but there are lots of relatively unknown wines….. they seem to collect wine that was intended for export but never made it, etc, etc. Having said that, I've bought a few cases from them and have been happy - in particular when you get them during one of their discount sales and can combine it with something like an amex offer.

One of the better purchases I made from them was an "Evil Incarnate" Shiraz which was actually really good. I bought a second dozen later. No longer in stock though - there is a Cab (https://www.getwinesdirect.com/red-wines/Evil-Incarnate-Cabe…) but at nearly $15 a bottle I'm not sure it's worth it (I got the Shiraz for well under $10) when you can just walk into Dans and get something like a Wynns Cab for around the $10 mark. Great name for a wine though…..

      • Thanks for the insight, I'll get a mixed case and hopefully get some good ones in there.

  • I find the Norman Holbrook Shiraz which is often on BOGOF quite good. Don’t forget Shipster for free delivery. I bought last night with a 10% off code as well.

    • I just signed up Shipster, but still charged for delivery when checkout, what's the catch?

      • Did you work this out? I've just signed up to Shipster too, but keep seeing the $9 delivery fee in cart and checkout pages.

clean up the shopping cart, then logging again, that should work

  • Make sure you use same email address for GWD as you do for shipster and it will work.
