Can't Find Uncle Tobys Low Sugar Cheerios - Discontinued?

I haven't seen this at our Cole's or Woolie's in the last few weeks. Just checked a neighbouring Woolie's and it's not there either. Both website's say that it's'not available'.

It's the lowest sugar cereal that the kids will eat and we go through at least a box a week.

I can't believe they would discontinue a product like this.. has anyone seen it at there supermarket?

Just pour something else in the same box

Have you tried them with porridge? You can use liquid sweetener on it without them noticing and it is quick to make in the microwave (using "quick cook" oats).

If you have time you can make the normal kind on the stove. Extra nice with half a grated apple added a minute before it finishes cooking. Hardly needs any sweetener.

Porridge also fills them up for longer, so they won't come back asking for snacks mid morning.

I used to think porridge was a massive treat as a kid. Not sure if your kids will think the same but worth a try? If you can't find any more cheerios.

    Feed them something nutritious

It is pretty nutritious actually, it's several different grains together with minimal sugar. The standard version is laden with sugar.

  • TBH there are many good healthy cereal options on the shelf these days. I usually have a look around and buy a different one every month, just to try new products out.

    • Any suggestions on what low sugar ones are around? My little girl eats it as a snack and it's quite difficult to find something that's low in sugar and reasonable in price..

  • Did you ask Uncle Tobys?

  • I've asked uncle Toby's. They've discontinued it but you can find it in IGA until sept :(
