Need a Good Deal on a Motherboard CPU Combo That Takes M.2

Hi all,

I'm looking for an inexpensive deal on a new mobo & CPU. It's mainly for me to test, recover, & diagnose drives, but if there's only a few dollars difference to gain a better system, I can do that. The issue I'm having is incorrect/no drive detection using external bays.

Thanks for any suggestions!

:)

Has to be new? Maybe try ASUS H110M-A/M.2 ($75 dollars) + Kaby Lake Pentium G3930 CPU ($49 dollars)

This chinese seller is selling G3930's for $40.85, which is about $9 less than buying local.

You buy buy PCI-e M.2 addin cards that are as reliable if that helps. I'm assuming you're currently using USB which can be flaky.

  • Doesn't "have to" be new, but my reasoning is that it can start out as a test bed and then actually use it myself perhaps, down the road.

PLE has a $199 special right now but after reviewing (& though it's got good reviews) the B350 line is a lot better specced for only a bit more $$.

OMG, I do this all the time— it's h*ll trying to balance outlay against possible usage.

Thank you for your help- appreciated. :)
