Sydney International Airport Bargains? (Meal/Drink Deals)

Hi there everyone. My wife and I will be at the international airport for at least 5 hours before our flight tomorrow. We are flying at 12:40pm with Scoot.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any meal or drink deals at the international airport?

It will be nice to find somewhere nice to sit where I can do some work and maybe have a coffee and then my wife and I are planning to have lunch there before our flight as the Scoot flights don't provide food.

Thanks! :)

  • Have you got credit cards with anyone?

    Eg AMEX?

Make sure you stock up on bottles of water. Only costs $9 a bottle.

  • Airports do not have deals. Why get there so early?

McDonalds, small Double beef and Bacon meal for $5. The only cheap thing there lol

  • Download the hungry jacks app, u can get cheap slop as a desperate measure

  • It's good to arrive early and factor in some traffic along the way, etc, but five hours prior to scheduled flight time is way too early to be arriving!

(I travel quite frequently usually aim to arrive at the airport two hours prior to international flight departures and, all these years, I've never had any near misses).

  • use your free priority pass… free meals =)

Why 5 hours? Are you flying in from somewhere else? Is the person dropping you off busy for the rest of the day?

Yes, we have someone dropping us off and so we can't just get dropped of any time. :/

Take a packed lunch, no different than going to work

  • Scoot flights do actually sell food don’t they?

    • Scoot have the worst airline food, its unbelievably bad

      • And much more expansive

Just DIY at home. Buy a roast chicken and make some sandwiches.

  • Foreign Exchange Services Global Exchange have 15% off. Get business card at their counter. Land side of ground floor. So you will only lose 28% per transaction instead of their normal 33% :((

  • Oosh at arrivals does light bite meals that aren't too expensive. Recommend the oregano and cheese. There's plenty seating around too. Worth a check.

  • Happy Meal at McD's?

  • Free 'drinking water' fountains, but, if filtered, then I doubt that their filters ever get changed. Byo empty bottle.
