I believe this would be the cheapest price offered for a hub and 3 hue colour bulbs

The bridge sells on its own for around $80 (realistically it's worth around $40 imho) which makes the bulb around $40 each with Amazon20. At this price range, I'd favor this over lifx and xiaomi

The individual bulbs are also down to $49.99 for B22 and $44.99 for E27 (these are the listed prices - no discount code needed). Both were about $90 until very recently.

  • nice timing with Hue 3.0 app being released

    • yep

      • Will OW beat the price or no because of the use of a code?

From their website under PBG exclusions: https://www.officeworks.com.au/information/policies/price-be…

"Cashback and coupon offers (i.e. supplier cashback or reduced price available via paper coupon or electronic codeword)"

I'm using the code supplied in the GST law email.

  • E27, being the ones I need, are out of stock for 3-5 weeks, quite a long time :(

    • Adapters are cheap, $1.50 for 2pk at ikea last time i was there.

    • I ordered anyway since I’m not in a rush and got this email.

      Hello,

We are pleased to report that the following item will dispatch sooner than expected:

"Philips Hue White and Colour Ambiance Edison Screw (E27) Dimmable LED Smart Bulb (Latest Model, Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant)"
      Previous estimated arrival date: 29/06/2018 - 12/07/2018
      New estimated arrival date: 12/06/2018 - 15/06/2018

  • Are these gen 1,2 or 3? (keep reading about these but not sure how to spot the difference)

    • ah.. well .. couldnt resist and bought one … my credit said .. noooooooo …. but ozbargain heart couldn't resist the delicious deal :) .. Now to skipping lunch till I recover the cost ;)

    • -2

The E27 bulb I was sent by Amazon AU was a gen 3 in a white box.

The gen 2 comes in the purple coloured boxes (like in the image above) and gen 1's are in a black box.

    • +3

Gen 3 and 4 have the green "richer colors" icon on the top right. Bunnings versions (gen 3) come in the purple box, amazon (gen3) have them in white boxes, amazon uk gen4 are in purple as well. There is a code on the actual bulb which will tell you the gen (lct010/lct014 for gen3, lct015 for gen 4)

  • All this smart lighting is killing my bank account

    and Thanks for the bargain

  • Thanks, I've been looking for a set since switching back to iOS. The Xiaomi is good, but doesn't work with Siri or Homekit. Now that I will have the kit, it will make adding bulbs a much easier to swallow purchase.

I already used my Amazon20 voucher, but i still had voucher for the new GST laws :)

    • Just add a google home

  • For reference, the Hue Go is $109.99

Compares with $149 at most retailers

  • Thanks OP. Always been looking at getting smart lighting with my Google Home Mini. This may be the start of smart lighting for the whole unit! Also bought the 2m strip for behind TV.

  • Damn, looks like the E27 bulbs are out of stock from Amazon.

Price is now $74.99 from 'Mighty Ape'.

  • E27 White + Colour Ambience back in stock at $45!!

Two weeks ago my house was stupid. Then i bought a Google home mini as i wanted a pointless toy to play with for a while. Fast forward 14 days, i have 2 x Google Homes, 3 x Google Home Minis, a Philips Hue setup with 24 globes, 5 switches and 2 sensor kits, with many more to come. Worst part is i can't even blame OzBargain, i stumbled on the Bunnings pricing and went bananas.

I used to laugh at people who wanted to get wifi light bulbs. Now i still laugh, but in the mirror.

    • I have 4 google home, 1 Amazon Echo Plus, 1 Amazon Echo dot, 1 Philips hue colour kit, 4 hue colour bulbs, 1 hue White ambience bulb and 20 hue White bulbs.
