  • Found Psychonauts and Starpoint, but not Amnesia for me. :/

    • Start to download Amnesia in steam, and then try again. You do not have to download the whole game, I let mine run for only a few minutes. It has worked for me in the past and this time as well.

      • Gave that a shot but it didn't find it… Then I noticed a note saying that you can only refresh once every 2 hours. Of course I had just done a refresh before reading your post. lol. I'll try again later.

I got Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs via the Humble Bundle freebie for Amnesia Collection which includes both Amnesia games. In Steam's licences and activations page it lists as Amnesia Collection and GOG isn't breaking it down to its component items.

There's a lot of people in the GOG forums with the same issue. Some are saying that it eventually gets added after 8+ hours. Perhaps GOG has fixed this issue and there's now a processing backlog for it.

        • @MiniMoo: I just checked my account again and Amnesia has now been found and I've added it to my library. Yay! :)

Same here. I have Amnesia running in the background and GOG still was unable to find it.

    • It's the 2nd Amnesia game, not the first one.

      • Same problem here as well. Have "Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs" in my Steam library but its not being detected and transferred over by GOG connect.

  • Cheers. Mine discovered 3 news ones but already had two. I hope that means I've already transferred them to GoG and not that I've bought them twice. Then again, Humble Bundle packages caused me to buy some duplicates.

  • I got an incredible 9 out of the 13 games - I am sure Psychonauts was on there before but it must not have registered.

Anyway, if you have Kingdom: New Lands as a bonus goodie you get the original Kingdom game DRM-free as well (is listed as a bonus goodie when you click to download Kingdom: New Lands).

  • Got 5. Thanks OP

  • What's the appeal of non-Steam games? It's clear that the billions Valve has aren't going anywhere anytime soon, so why not keep all your games together in one easy application?

DRM free. Can install them wherever you want without needing to be online. Can play them offline. Some games come with extra goodies like soundtracks, maps and backgrounds etc. Plenty of positives for GOG

It's never a bad idea to encourage good competition, especially when its DRM free.

The Steam model is predicated on one person - one account, which makes it really difficult for say a family of users.

We have three games-capable machines for a family of four. I have a primary account with 300+ games, and a couple of minor accounts specifically for multiplayer within the household (we buy the additional licences).

However, all our prime games are on the main account, so I can't play GTAV at the same time as my wife is playing Civ5 for example. Sure, there are sometimes clunky workarounds like making one change to offline mode, but often it ends up with someone getting kicked out mid-game or ending up with cloud sync conflicts.

    • I don't know about Steam but GoG.com actively tries to get old games to work on newer machines. Such as includimg third party applications and mods into the installation that they know can help get the game to work.

Bloodlines the Masquerade for example includes Unofficial Patch 9.7 on GoG to help with the incredibly buggy game release.

  • Thanks! Didn't even realise I owned a copy of FTL I'll have to check that out

  • already had 5, got the other 8.. I love GOG Connect :)

You can get Hotline Miami 2 as well via a VPN and relog of your GOG account if you have it on Steam

  • Can you connect your Steam account, add the games, and then disconnect your Steam account from it again?

    • Once connected, you can't disconnect. But then what's the problem? GOG (or any other connected 3rd party) can't do anything to your Steam account. It's like me asking for your Twitter link. Once I've got it all I can do is see your tweets, I can't actually do anything to your account. It's basically read-only access.

It seems Grim Dawn has disappeared.

    • Omerta has also disappeared.

  • Apparently, they announced on Twitter that Grim Dawn was only available for 3 days instead of 14 days. Pretty uncool.
Do not know what happened with Omerta though - maybe the same?
