  • you can buy a costco membership, buy the arlo pro 2 for whatever price it is, and then refund the membership price

    • hahha thats cheeky!

  • I couldn't justify the Arlo price so I ordered two of these through ebay (with solar panel option).

A lot of great reviews out there.

I have contacted the company about some things I couldn't find info on:

The local micro sd card will fill up and then overwrite the earliest recordings (like the looped recording on a dash cam).
You can set up the camera to email you the recorded video clips.
You can access the videos stored on the sd card via the app.
Cloud storage will be available in September. At the moment the lack of cloud storage means if an intruder steals the
camera your videos will be gone!!

    • How are you liking your Argus 2? I'm planning to buy now. And is the solar panel helpful at all?

    • @raytriplej,

Also, any idea if the cloud storage will have 7 days free like Arlo pro 2?

      • Loving the Argus 2 with solar panel. Never get a flat battery. Have dodgy wifi reception where the cameras are setup but that isn’t the cameras fault. Log in easily from my iphone ( once I set up port forwarding in my modem). Trying to order two more now but seem to be gone from eBay and only available thru offical site at an inflated price.

  • I can't speak to the Arlo Pro, I have the "original" Arlo (i.e. not Pro, no audio recording, nor 2-way audio). It's brilliant. Just does the job, and fulfils the requirement of DIY. If you can get original Arlo, you'd be happy, the price of the PRO is pretty high and recording Audio is not that critical I don't think.

  • I agree with the arlo being not that cheap. I have the arlo pro and it's such an investment. If you're looking into on and on recording and a clearer resolution, go for the arlo pro 2. If motion and sound triggered is good enough for you, the arlo pro might be worth looking into, which is a bit cheaper compared to the pro 2. You can check here a comparison. I don't think it's much but might help you. By the way, the batteries on these cameras are rechargeable but they get drained a bit fast compared to the other home cameras I used before.

  • What's the best way to get an Argus?
