Be careful drawing it back out, they may charge a cash advance fee even though it is your own money.

  • Why?

  • Yes - I have done it with NAB and ComBank.

When withdrawing the funds there was no fee (or tiny fee) if the account was left in credit. If you dip into debt with a transaction the whole amount cops a cash advance fee.

  • Yes. This used to be a major advantage to the 28degrees cc, but I think they've changed the rules.

    • Correct, changed long time ago already…

      • Excuse me, I think what you meant to say was 'Correct-a-mundo'

  • Are you sure we can do this?

So I can apply for example new anz black credit card, BPay $8000 to my cba card to fulfil the spending requirements to get bonus points from that anz card, then later withdraw those $8k back.

    • How would a BPay into the card count as spending?

Most banks would consider that a cash advance… so no points for you unfortunately. (Looking at ANZ's website, that exact thing is in the fine print)
