How to I sell my blacklisted Kindle Paperwhite?

Today i received my Kindle Paperwhite and noticed a scratch on the screen and after talking with Amazon's Customer Service told me that I could keep the Kindle and they'll send me a replacement unit. The thing is that they have blacklisted the Kindle and i'm wondering if I could just sell it on Gumtree or the Classified section on Ozbargain? Or is there any other way to use it?

You can transfer ebooks to your Kindle with Calibre (software). Your kindle will still operate just like any other eBook reader… you just won't be able to sync to your Amazon cloud account and some features might be disabled.

    • Cool. What about trying to sell it? Would you recommend it?

  • There are a few black listed Kindles on ebay so people must want them for something.

    • Too scared if somebody might report me

      • Just be clear in the ad that it is blacklisted.

If Amazon told you you could keep it, then it's yours, to sell or keep or whatever. Just be sure to make it clear that it's blacklisted when you post it for sale.

Keep the one with the scratch and sell the replacement?

Great idea (if you're handy with a few extra steps to get your books on there).

My Kindle DX has an obvious mark in the middle of the screen where the pixels don't draw properly and was refunded in full, but you can't notice it in regular reading.

How much do you want for it and how badly is it scratched?

I never connect my Kindle online anyway so I wouldn't care if it was blacklisted.
