How Long for David Jones to Deliver a Sony TV

I purchased a Sony 75 inch TV from David Jones a week ago, got a call confirming my address and was told Sony will call to schedule a delivery time. Haven't received any calls post the call from David Jones. Called them back Friday and was told I got to wait and nothing.

Has anyone had the same issue before? Any idea how long it takes them to deliver the TV

    Obligatory "What did DJ's say when you called them again and asked them?"

    • Oops, DJ said all bulky orders are not stored in their warehouse and passed on to the Vendor (sony in this case) and told me I will be contacted by Sony and did not provide a time frame

        What did Sony say when you asked them?

        • Never called Sony, but why would I.. I placed the order with DJ

          @JunkCap:

          Yeah mate, and fair enough too!
          DJs shouldn't be palming you off to a third party when they're the ones who took your dollarydoos

          @JunkCap: you contact ozb though even you place order with DJ? Just kidding… You can ask anything :)

    10 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

    • You idiot - it's a 75" TV. Not a 65"!

    as a former storeperson for David Jones - your title should say "How Long for Sony to Deliver a Sony TV"

    as you have rightly said "DJ said all bulky orders are not stored in their warehouse and passed on to the Vendor (sony in this case) and told me I will be contacted by Sony and did not provide a time frame"

    • I must have probably bought it from Sony!!! I will call Sony tomorrow and see what they got to say

        I agree with Drew22 comments - it should be DJ and not you who should be running around to get this sorted!

        • at the same time it is SOny who is going to be organising a delivery time with you. a mixed bag

          @altomic:
          Yeah, but it shouldn't take them a week to call you and organise it…

          DJs should be "Oh, its been a week and they haven't called you? Let me chase them for you!"

          Otherwise where does it stop?
          Chase the importer?
          Chase customs?
          Chase the shipping company?
          Chase the factory?
          Chase the plebs assembling the TV?
          Chase the people making the plastic?

        • @Drew22: Love it man!!!

      that is incorrect, he has not purchased it from sony, it is purchased from David Jones and shipped from their silverwater warehouse or stores

  • Not sure where you are located but today was the first day back at work since Friday for most companies since it was a public holiday in most states yesterday. I'd give them tomorrow to call you and if nothing by 4pm, call DJs find out who the Sony rep is and call them.

    They are having problems with their new website after the switch to the country road platform. When people have placed orders, some of them came through, and some have no history on the system of an order being placed, but the customers have been debited. I recommend you call online customer service and ask them about it and potentially organise a refund

    Ask for your tracking number too

    • mate, the website is just a fake front that is not working. I made orders and it all got knocked and what is most dishonest about it is it left customers hanging whether their orders went through.
      I would stay out of ordering online and go in store, chances are your orders might or might not get through with detained funds.
      Companies change to working platforms, not some flaky platform that works randomly. Until they fix that which I am not sure when and no notice anyway, customers just unknowingly order through that and then they reject them for being unable to fulfill the order while still sitting on the customers funds.
      The takeover might be its downfall.

      • I don't know if they have since fixed the issues, but I have made several orders in the last fortnight with no issues.

  • Quick update!! I sent a message to DJ on facebook yesterday and was told someone from the online team contact me today! Hopefully I get some updates!
