eBay Top Tip - For Codes That Can't Be Applied

Hi Everyone, so since moving to Australia I've been using eBay a lot more than at home (Ireland). I often see promotions and discount codes posted here offering X% off, and they have never worked for me I just always get an error saying "This code can't be applied to your order."

Recently, I have figured out the solution to this problem, I had been using the same eBay account I used for the Irish eBay, despite it being on eBay.com.au (but initially registered on ebay.ie) and having an Aussie bank account and Aussie PayPal and Aussie Billing Address linked etc etc. SO THE SOLUTION, make a new account registered to eBay.com.au and these codes will now work for you.

  the top tip is to just change the country on 'registered address' in account settings

  worked on the 20% sitewide US code

    Realestate is back in IRE. Not back to stupid bubble levels in the country, but much better in Dublin etc.

  I think it is because your Irish eBay account is still has an Irish registered address. I think all you needed to do was to change your registration address to your Oz one. Once you do that, you should get a message congratulating your move to Australia! FYI, the registration address is not changed in the same place under your profile as your delivery address.

  You can choose a new home country or region at any time by updating your registration information.
  Here's how:
  Go to the change registration information
  In the Country field, choose your country from the dropdown menu.
  If applicable, you can change the rest of your address. 
  Select Change registration information.
  Review your changes and select submit.
