Help with a Good Pair of Walking Shoes

I am looking for a good pair of walking shoes for my up and coming trip to Europe. I have reasonably wide feet and find most of the running shoe are a little bit tight. My thought was to purchase a pair of Adidas men's Duramo 8 running shoes 1 size larger than I usually take. Any suggestions or input would be very much appreciated.

  • Brooks Addiction Walker are the best walking shoes i ever owned, get a good sole insert and they lasted me a good 3 years, i am on my 2nd pair. They come in extra wide sizing which is 4e, i also had the same issue as you, but this fit extra wide feet very well.

I also have wide feet and did a 500km walking trip in Europe last year (25-35km a day). I wore a pair of extra wide New Balance running shoes (they come in various widths, eg size 11A, 11B,…11E) which I bought from a running shop where I got good advice. My partner used trail runner shoes which she also found good. My shoes were pretty much finished by the end of the trip but hers are still going strong.

These are the hiking shoes I bought from Adventure Megastore - they look heavy but are actually lite.
