ISP recommendation sought for fibre

Hello I am in an area with fibre connection (OptiComm’s Fibre to the Premises) only with limited choices of ISPs. I list about half of the providers in my area only.

What is your recommendation between? please poll below.

If you have a referral code please help. Hope this does not break OzBargain rules.

Thank you in advance.

  • I have been through this recently.

    First I chose DCSI.

Their support/customer service was amazing and they were cheap. However, they couldn't fix connection issues. It was not Opticomm (the fibre wholeseller), it was DCSI.

I ended up switching to iinet. They had me up and running in about 4-5 hours, literally. No issues.

That said, they are more expensive with significantly lower data limits. On the other hand, freezone on steam and iinet ftp servers work well for me.

I think I pay $109pm for 500gb 100/40 and phone. I may increaase to 1000gb if this isn't enough. Given I am 10 days into my month and have used ~140gb this may be a possibility.

    • Side note, check how they configure connections to the network. Are they using pppoe or ipoe… The former gave me issues, the latter, none.

      • Thanks for the comments. All I know it's
OptiComm’s Fibre to the Premises. Any advise about the best method is appreciated.

        • I am the same; opticomm fttp/h.

iinet have been good for me so far but it is expensive. Their online portal is good though.

I was using my own router but found it wasn't routing calls properly, so I have switched to theirs and set the other as an access point elsewhere.

Plenty of wholegrains and leafy greens, or Metamucil to supplement.

    Happy pooping!
