TaoTronics NC Wireless Over Ear Headphones - Anyone Tried Them?

Not sure if it is just sneaky advertising, but news.com.au reckon these headphones give the Bose QC35 a run for their money (kind of) at ~1/5 of the price.

Given you should be able to get them for $60 shipped with a new Amazon account, plus any NAB/Cashrewards cashback, I am tempted to give them a go but have a giant melon so bit worried about comfort and durability.

And yes I read the Amazon reviews, but they don't seem that genuine.

  • TaoBao merges with Plantronics, new name is? yes TaoTronics

  • yeah the reviews seem off, besides the first one about the washing machine

  • Actually the review says the exact opposite:

In terms of the listening experience, the product was surprisingly good when it came to the active noise cancellation of low frequency sounds, however it struggled with those on the higher end of the scale.

Generally higher pitched sounds are more annoying than lower-freq sounds.

The headphones will never match the industry leaders, but they are still very good even if the overall the detail is a little soft.

This is pretty much par for the course in all tech. You will always get the best value-performance ratio near the middle of the pack, and will pay disproportionately more for top-end products from a dollar/performance perspective.

  • The reviewer just says they are a good budget option. They may well be great for $70 but BOSE will always be the best in noise cancelling

  • I have the taotronics anc earphones tt-ep002. For the price, I'm really happy with the quality. They are pretty good for only a fraction of a bose nc set of earphones. In my opinion, it blocks about 80% of the noise. When there's a lot of traffic, I can still hear cars drive pass. The left earphone also broke on mine but they were really helpful. They gave me another one as it was still under warranty but it was a bit fussy as they are only located in the U.S. I reckon the headphones would be similar in quality as the earphones I have.

Have a look at the reviews on the us amazon site.

  • +1

I just received mine today purchased from Amazon AU for $55.99 using the code EET72VRM. With the 10% cashback using NAB credit card, it just cost $50! I am very impressed by the sound quality and noise cancellation. While it might not be a BOSE, it sounds fantastically amazing! It doesn't feel as plasticky as I thought it would be after reading the reviews. I would never purchase a BOSE headset so I'm very happy with mine.

    • Thanks trex. Any comment on comfort as yet?

      • The leather ear pads feels very soft and comfortable. It doesn’t feel cheap at all. Only wore it for around 20 mins or so but it felt very good. Can’t wait to test it out for longer use.

        • How are you finding it now.

Need something soft for the head and eats but still good fit.

          Does it have a mic?
