Best Health Insurance Option/Company/Policy for Family (2 Adults 1 Child) What Do You Recommend and How Much Do You Pay?

Hi guys, we've just had a bub. I was with HCF and Missus was with Bupa. We both had medium cover with extras and a $500 excess.
Seems like now that we have a child, we should be combining together for a family deal with bubs included.

So I was wondering if anyone could recommend a private health insurer and any particular levels of cover and how much you pay for your family's health insurance?

I just spoke with Bupa and they are quoting $365 a month for top hospital cover with a $500 excess. It says with this policy there are no exclusions except cosmetic surgery.

Only thing I can see that could cost us a lot in the near future (next few years) would be laser eye surgery for my wife and potential issues that the baby might have. We'd also like something with decent dental cover.

Also, do we get back anything on tax if we take one of these family policies?

Thanks for any advice/feedback recommendations!

  • Become Immortal it's cheaper

  • Try Frank Health.
Normally they are cheaper as the others are for profit.
Stay away from Medibank as they have gone down hill after privatisation.
Read their reviews (Medibank & Frank) and you can see for yourself.
    Cheers

I think I went to school with him.

        lol.

Did he advocate good health? … or just wanted to borrow around $1500 per year off you? :-)

  • I am with Bupa and pay about the same for a family of three. However, mine is not the top cover. I think it is one below that. So a top cover for $365 is a good deal. Also makes me realize that I should change to a different insurance company!
