    Appreciate the intention behind the price comparison with other aggregator sites on an non-disclosed basis, but still entirely uncompelling. "sign up and give us your valuable contact details (post GDPR)" and then you can examine our highly unlikely to exist savings.

    • What is a blackout date? I'm a luxury traveller and have never encountered a 'blackout date'. Are you telling me you have special arrangements with leading hotels which means they reserve stock for you?
    • Last room availability - what arrangements with what hotel groups do you have that would enable you to provide this in "most cases"
    • Flexible reservations (in most cases) - This is meaningless. Pricing will be lower for non-flexible bookings. This is how the market works
    • Largest selection of room types - do hotels have special VIP types they hold for you but don't offer to the public via other channels or their own website?

      I understand your concern and hope to earn your trust. To help answer your questions:
      1) Yes, you can join with fake personal information,(and it's ok) however when it comes time to book a hotel or car rental you will need to provide accurate information so your booking confirmation matches the hotel check-in policies
      2) Blackout Dates: Some hotels may choose to have blackout-dates for certain major events like the Super Bowl or a big convention, whereby the hotel owner would rather sell the rooms directly based on demand instead of pre-sell the rooms to large OTA supplier. This is more commonly done with smaller hotel chains or boutique hotels
      3) Flexible Reservations: This means we offer more refundable room rates for a hotel where other OTA's may only offer non-refundable room rates
      4)"Largest Selection of Room Types" Yes, actually hotels do keep some rooms off OTA markets and commonly saved for ultra-VIPS (Example: https://www.cnbc.com/video/2017/03/01/the-most-expensive-hot…). Most OTA's filter the amount of room types it offers its users mainly to help make it simpler to book a room where actually there are more room types available with slight variations. Our members who commonly book 4 & 5 star hotels are very particular and like to see all the room types available and we do not filter our room types that are available

        Appreciate the reasonable answers, I guess my conclusion is there is some incremental value in your business, but for me personally the incremental cost is not worth the expected incremental saving. For Ozbargain I'm sure you know identifiable savings are a better call to action, but perhaps generating a couple hundred clicks and some awareness is a good enough prize.

    I have an upcoming stay in Malaysia, and I found that rates on this site (Hilton, Le Meridien, and others) were the same as booking.com.

    I was also put off by the claims that it has 'global support offices in 52 countries' and 'we're here for you 24 hours, 7 days a week' when there is only one phone number and it is only open weekdays and Saturday mornings, Chicago time. It could easily be a one-person operation or even a scam. I'm glad I didn't give my real personal details.

    In most cases, you're better off doing this stuff yourself. A great resource (if you're hunting in USD) is FlyerTalk - especially this forum. There is no free lunch (except for captive bloggers it seems)…

    Looked at booking a room for 1 night in Singapore. advertised for $214 a night, when i click through to purchase it is $250 with an additional $20 for tax making it $270…. doesn't make sense.
