Can you guys please share your thoughts on Ford Everest and also the price you have purchased it. I am looking to buy one in next month or two.

They are a great car. Well equipped. Only complaint would be they are a bit more noisy than competition. I would only really consider an Everest if. You actually want to tow and go 4wding.
If you dont plan on doing either looks at something like a Hyundai Tucson or Mazda CX 8. I hate seeing people getting the car they THINK they need as opposed to what is actually the correct car for them

    • And don’t go 4wd in long grass until theY fix the DPF issue.

      • the fix is now been deployed

        • I can’t see the recall notice on the recalls Australia website, Do you happen to have the recall number? Or is it a hush hush TSB cause we don’t want to scare the public into thinking the car might burn to the ground on the highway? Seems to be a theme with Fords.

I recommend you compare it to a Pajero (the real one, not the sport). There's not too many capable 4wds in that size.

I second this. The Pajero is very underrated, and very capable vehicle.

Pajero is an excellent car (former owner) but they are well behind the competition. The gen4 shape has aged well, but inside and technology wise its years behind the competition.

    • I just got a Pajero my18
      I'm happy with it.
My uses are for a family car when such a family arrives and for camping and medium 4wding.

      Drives pretty well.

    • From what I can see and think the Pajero dpf is under the passenger side near the middle of the car.

    • If you want a 20 year old car, sure. Or you could get an Everest, which is basically brand new.

  • I haven't heard/read much about FORD EVEREST DPF issues. I certainly have read heaps about Prado and Hilux DPF issues though.
How big and bad are these dpf issues with Everest?

    • The heat shields that run under the DPF were designed in a way that caught long grass, so you go 4WDing and then the DPF does a burn in the highway back to civilisation. Net result is a mobile grass fire down the freeway. They apparently have a fix now according to @wayfastwhitie, which should work as the same issue affects the Mazda BT utes, if it was a Ford fix I’d give it 2 months before it broke or had issues. Although there is no recall notice in the recalls Australia website(?!?!)
And also check that Thai-ni Tim put the battery cables on properly, cause they’ve had issues too.

      • Thanks mate, I will keep this in mind

  • Is it the everest that isn't rated as a 4wd through some technicality?
