Thanks for letting me know - I love beer, and I love happy hour!
Who cares if its in the wrong spot?? It helps find bargain beer :) :)

      • Being a bargain finding app, I think this one is relevant to our interests.

Agree… I love the app… been using it all of 15 minutes and it's great. Well done OP!!

Here you go… there's around 300,000 free apps here for you…

        http://appshopper.com/free/

Or perhaps you would prefer me to post a separate deal for each one tightarse ????

Thanks guys for support. I'm fairly new to the site, but I thought an app that finds bargains is a bargain.

….so if we start charging for it in say 3 months (not blooody likely), then it would be a bargain cos it's free?

    • You tell 'em THH! Fully behind you on this one!

    • -1

going from Free -> charging would not be a bargain IMO…

Wish I hadn't clicked. There is so much pent up angst on this thread. And over nothing.

i think everybody needs a cheap beer and cheesy parma

    • +1

I think tightarse has had too much cheap beer! :p

      • +1

Nice one. Voting negative just to make a point?

    • especially tightarse…

      • Thanks guys.

        • Burp…

        • Excuse you

      10-0 :)

Sorry … I shouldn't be fanning the flames.

Don't know what the fuss is about, I agree we should try & use the site as intended … but being a relatively new user I would have missed seeing this app …

      • if you think that Ozbargain should be a place for free advertising, then perhaps make a request to the site owners to change it…

as i posted earlier, if you are interested in free apps, there are lots of databases that list them and automatically send you notifications…

    Rabble Rabble Rabble!

mint post :) cheers for that i would have never known such an app! :D

  • Free websites/software are not a bargain, feel free to post in forums. REMOVED

    • Moved to forums, rather.

    • hooray

      • just like magic… i'm impressed…

how do i remove my -ve now ???

        • Hmmm, seems there is a bug when moving to forums. Let's try and have more productive conversation. A simple report to the mods would have sufficed.

I downloaded the app yesterday, very nice. Rep (Chris?), I still have the tightass keyring from Thehappiesthour. Is that still valid?

        • A simple report to the mods would have sufficed.

That was done right away but it seems they were all off to the pub for a long Friday lunch…

        • I still have the tightass keyring

how will tightarse get home without keys ?

  • Great post OP, shame about all the dribble afterward when a simple single request could have been sensibly used….

  • @ Neil

I understand the concept of the fact 'its just a free software item' and it has been correctly stated that there are thousands of these out there on the net…. for sure.

BUT its a very fair argument that a free app/software that can sniff out BARGAINS could possibly be an exception to the rule?? I for one think this is a great saver of time and money…. and I'm sure I'm not alone…

Am I misguided or missing something, or isn't a post like this what OZBargain is all about??

  • It's not my rule and it's certaintly not a rule that we came up out of nowhere. It's based on community feedback and experience.

Things that could fall into this category:

    Buckscoop
    Slickdeals
    StaticIce
Lasoo (catalogue site that lists weekly shop bargains)
    Google
Officeworks as they will always have the lowest price
Any number of great bargain blogs out there
    Even just Thehappiesthour.com.au

Now, if you found a good bargain on the site (or any of the other sites), such as a great drink deal then that's worth a post.
