Bought a set of these (the chelsea mold) for my RMW, caught on the lining and ripped it on the way out, and the brass handle ripped out. They wanted me to go down to the post office in my own time (post offices aren't open outside business hours…), buy a box, wrap it up, and post it back to them for warranty.

They just went in the bin instead.

    • Whoa! Had my eyes on those for my a few pairs of boots.. how did it rip the lining? Poor design or bad luck?

Yeah…the service of delivery isn't on them - that's just…well, law. Essentially, there was nothing wrong with the delivery of the item, therefore that service is not eligible for refund.

Have you never come across that one before? Buyer pays return shipping is usually fairly standard.

As a fairly new start up, with the majority of customers making their first purchase (rather being a returning customer), you'd think they would maybe go a little bit above and beyond with the customer service. Especially when it's a new product that appears to be faulty.

        • Some do, but they aren't required to.

        • @The Gent: Most do.

If a product is faulty I would be demanding return postage to be paid by the manufacturer/retailer.

Change of mind or a refund because you don't like the product then I would be happy to wear the cost

          Thanks for the heads-up.

          true
but once you have parted with your money, some people don't want anything to do with you
          Sad reality
Attitude will be like send it to us and we will look into it

In the instance above, it is unclear to me who was paying for the return, but tromboc did not have time to go to the post office or to procure a box

even if returns were 100% free, if you do not have time to go to the post office, you can't send it back

do they have them for thongs?

  • I've purchased from these guys, the full toe trees don't have quite the weight of the woodlore ones i've got from Amazon in years gone by but very similar and good quality. Will be picking up a couple more pending on the delivery costs.

  • I bought the chelsea boot trees last time they were on sale. A major difference from other brands is that they only have one piece of metal (as opposed to two) between the wooden heel and toe portions - this meant that instead of coming out smoothly the metal would twist and I was worried about damaging either the shoe trees or boots.

Wouldn't recommend unless they've addressed this. I've gone back to using standard shoe trees for my RM's.

Edit: Appears that selected styles have the double metal piece. Go for these! (or consider the wooden ones on ebay that go for about $20)

  • Off of what, sorry?

A month I had sent an email to your customer service asking where your shoe trees are made- [email protected]

Since they have not bothered replying(but have added me to your mailing list) could you please tell me

  • Has anyone tried the Diaso ones?

    • didnt know them sold them? I've got the Muji ones (cedar) and theyre decent. Pretty much the same as the ones for sale in this post, but a bit more expensive ($39 if i remember rightly)
