Guidance with replacement of downlights ( CBUS system)

Hey Team,

I have CBUS linked system which controls the downlights at home. the CBUS system is quite old and am looking to take the downlights off the CBUS network and replace them with a more efficient downlights - Electrician is suggesting LED downlights.

any advice would be greatly appreciated….

Not sure we can give better advice than your sparky, but I personally have been replacing a lot of bulbs with LEDs. Only ones I haven't are ones where I have left over compact fluorescent bulbs from years ago. Is there a reason you can't link the LEDs to your CBUS system too? (apologies if that's a stupid question)

Thanks HighandDry, the CBUS system is over twenty years old and finding people who do CBUS doing non commercial installations is hard.

Correct. Many businesses have a no CBUS policy. They are headaches that require return visits, making almost every job unprofitable - and every customer unhappy. I'm sure someone will do it though. Good luck.

You will be able to get bulbs that work with the cbus system…

I know a friendly guy who does CBUS work for residential in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. PM me if that could be of interest to you.
