How Do You @$Username in replies?

Sometimes when I click reply it auto populates eg "@mr-anderson:", other times it doesn't?

I think it depends on the nesting level of the comment.

I don't know how to explain it properly. It depends on how deep the comment chain is. I posted a pic to hopefully help explain it.
First pic: If you respond to the 3rd level comment, it'll create a 4th indent which is mr-anderson's comment. ets27's last comment responding to mr-anderson won't indent further hence the username pops up to show that he's responding to mr-anderson.
Second pic: jassssone is responding to the 3rd level comment (rps) hence creates a 4th level comment. ssjwill (you) also respond to rps which creates the same 4th level indent as jassssone. If you were to respond to jassssone instead, his username would have showed to show that you were talking to him, and not rps.

I don't know if that made much sense but it essentially shows the username when the comment can no longer indent when replying.
