[VIC] $10 off Inside & Out Clean ($39 - $10 Voucher) @ Magic Hand Car Wash

70
10INSIDE

My car is such a mess and have been putting off getting it cleaned inside and out for some time.
Usually I go to Magic Car wash cause they're close to my place.

Went to their website today and saw they have a $10 off voucher, which takes price down from $39 to $29 for a sedan / hatch.
Which is reasonable as they're pretty good.

Not sure if you can just use the voucher 'as is' but I did have to go to the website and put in my details (name, rego, email, etc.) then it was sms'ed to me. But looks like just a generic voucher. Voucher is sent and lasts 7 days.

  • If you care about your car's paint, don't go to places like this.
    Expecially Magic's.

I need to get my car cleaned. I want to pay someone to do it for me. I care about the car's paint. I live in eastern suburbs of Melbourne, (around Ringwood area)… what places are bargains - and are also trust-worthy?

      • Wherever you go, try to get there when they open so that the sponges and buckets are clean. That's probably just as important as going somewhere with a good reputation.

Thanks OP. Worth noting that when the voucher is sent, it is only valid for 7 days.

    • Thanks ML - noted.

  • What is Magic's cleaning process that is bad for the car's paint?

    • The buckets and sponges that they use will likely have been soiled from previous cars and that debris will be rubbed on to your car's paint. I'm reasonably sure the drying process is done with a synthetic chamois which will also likely have accumulated debris from numerous other cars. I'm not sure how they clean door jambs, but if it's with the same chamois that is used to dry the car, then that's even worse. These actions will result in very fine scratches, most visible if you have dark paint.

I have no issues with the in and out $39 washes I have been getting for my Mercedes. For my last about two weeks back I also got (from memory) the polish and clay bar for an additional $60 (discounted to $30 as I was a regular).

The clay bar actually scrubbed down a lot of the accumulated nicks and scuffs I had and the finish ended up nice, smooth and shiny.

Very happy with the work and output from the Glen Iris (VIC) MHCW crew.

  • I use them nearly every month for the $49 SUV inside and out and they always give a great service. I’d be more concerned about the paintwork on the drive through car washes.

To be honest if you care about your paintwork don’t park in a public car park. Especially one that serves coles or Woolworths. People with trolleys who don’t give a fvck about your car do much damage than magic car wash.
