Corgi Puppies

Hi everyone,

I know theres a few other posts online but have had no luck in receiving any current information.
Does anyone know of any active Pembroke Corgi breeders? I have tried looking on Dogzonline but have had no luck as the majority of the litters may be occurring at the end of the year.
I have been looking for months so thought I would try my luck on here. Any help would be appreciated.
I live in NSW, happy to drive anywhere and including QLD.

Kind Regards

  • On dogz online I’m sure you can contact breeders irrespective if they have litters or not.

Contact a few breeders and get on their email lists.

If there’s a corgi club in Australia at all that could be worth a check

Yeah I have called quite a few breeders off Dogzonline even though it says no litter planned. In NSW, the ones I spoke to aren't doing waiting lists.
Have looked into the club, however I only find one for Victoria, not much contact information around.

  • I enquired with a few and some of them don't have litters but they'll place you on a waiting list.
There's some that'll require you to constantly ask if there's any litters coming. There's a few listed on tradingpost but I'm unsure of those

    • Do you know of any breeders with litters now or any upcoming?

  • I enquired middle of last year and I think they had one planned in the next year but they required me to keep in constant contact… I managed about a month before I went eh.

There's about 4 ads if you search "corgi" in tradingpost.. but I don't really know how legit they are though

I have a contact at Buckingham Palace. DM me.

  • My friend was wait around 2 years then got the puppies. I think because not that much breeders of Corgi.

  • Is there are Corgi club of NSW or Qld? Only suggesting because there is a beagle club of Qld which has both a very active Facebook group and a listing of breeders. Thought there might be a Corgi equivalent?

  • my grandmother had a corgi. she (my grandmother) was very old and had many pets through her life. she got tired of naming pets. her tabby cat was named "Tabby" and the corgi was named "Corgi". cute dog. great breed.

  • What breed are you OP?

Pembrokes are now a very popular breed. Gone are the days when they were under the radar when I picked up my boy who just turned 9 last week.

If you're looking to get one from a reputable breeder (which I strongly suggest you do), you have to expect to wait for maybe up to 1-2 years. Not saying it's not possible, but you'll be lucky to find one this year.

They are some fairly good advice given above in terms of contacting breeders and also going through your local clubs. There will be wait lists, but just get on them and hope for the best. Sometimes other people pull out of the wait list, or their situation change where they can't take a pup during a particular litter. In a way, I think this is good as well. It prevents impulse buys, and really give you time to ponder if a dog is suitable for you. If in 2 months you're no longer interested, then hey, maybe a dog isn't for you.

At the end of the day, the reputable breeders are quite picky in who they sell their pups too. Afterall, they do want their pups to live a good life. If you're not willing to put in the time and effort, it will be hard to strike a good impression with them.

Another good way of getting in touch with breeders is to attend the local dog shows that are held. Attend them, have a chat with the breeders and build rapport.

If you don't mind an older puppy, or maybe an adult, that will help you find one sooner as well.

    Good luck!

    • Totally agree with the above!

Ngaww happy 9 years old to your boy!!!

  • Hi Love,

I got a corgi in April - i did a lot of cold calling and emailing using all the contacts from dogzonline. I'm sure you've heard this a dozen of times… but thats what you need to do…

Search John - he said he would have a litter in July… Also search gumtree.. i saw some for sale a few weeks ago!

You need to keep calling and hounding!

    xx

  • I found this on gumtree if you're interested

    https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/moree/dogs-puppies/corgi-x-j…

  • I got mine from gumtree, NSW Dubbo last year. Unfortunately, there are no more planned litters.

Try the facebook Aussie Corgi Group.

For gumtree, it was a risk but make sure to validate the seller (google the name, facetime, bank detail bsb check etc)
