  • With massive holes in the T&Cs and Privacy Policy, I wouldn't be touching this with a 10 foot pole… basically take a risk to win some cash for a guaranteed sale of your information.

    • Hey @readeral. Can you please point out the holes in the T&Cs. Email us at [email protected] if you prefer. We will never sell any of our users information.

      • A cursory glance through your policy should make it bleeding obvious they're incomplete. There's even a note to someone to fix a sentence that might be wrong.

I'm not going to give you legal advice for free (nor am I trained to do it) but the content of the policies leaves way too many loopholes for my comfort.

But here are some of the obvious issues:
Firstly, https://speckyapp.com/privacy-policy/ under point 5: "5. Sharing information with third parties and customers. The Company works with " … it just cuts of. You work with who? and how is my info shared? I would have 0 confidence that my information is safe.

Secondly, https://speckyapp.com/terms-and-conditions/ the incomplete nature is things like [date] [hyperlink] [Confirm this sentence] etc. etc. gives a very bad impression.

Thirdly, in the T&Cs: "We may also disclose your personal information to recipients that are located outside of Australia and use or disclose your personal information for the purposes of sending updated information and other promotional material to you, and to send you marketing messages unless you decide to opt out of receiving such marketing messages."
Coupled with the first issue, this is far too wide open.

        Lastly, in the T&Cs:
"Our Privacy Policy explains: (i) how we store and use, and how you may access and correct your personal information; (ii) how you can lodge a complaint regarding the handling of your personal information; and (iii) how we will handle any complaint. If you would like further information about our privacy policies or practices, please contact us [email protected]."
        But reviewing the Privacy Policy:
        i) nope, nothing in the privacy policy about storing, keeping or correcting personal information, and nothing about how you intend to protect from information theft.
iii) no information about how a complaint is handled

If I have to point out these kinds of holes, that are obvious on a first read through, what confidence am I going to have in a company that claims to uphold them?

I know most consumers don't read T&Cs, but I do, and these are just not up to scratch.

      • It's also good form to list your ABN on the website so we can, y'know, work out if your business is legitimate.
