TRS Refund, outside 60 Day Window

Hi guys

Recently bought something on sale on ebay, however from the purchase date on the invoice emailed to me, it is 62 days until i fly overseas.

Long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced any flexibility with the 60 day limit on the TRS?

not possible. fly earlier or go to the airport 2 days early and camp inside the terminal.

    • yeah, some apple fanboi can camp for 5 days, why we cant?

      • But you can't, too many flaws in that plan.

You need a boarding pass to get through customs. /s

The personnel @ the TRS counter are chosen for their inability to think outside the rules.

    Your claim will be rejected.

I understand there is a mistake on your invoice, please contact the seller for a corrected invoice.

    • I agree with this one, go back to the seller and see if they will issue you with a later dated invoice.

  • "any flexibility"

    no flexible at all

    • not flexible at all

      no flexibility at all

      • You're a dude (presumably). What do you have against periods?

      • It's like wearing nothing at all…

        Nothing at all…

Why would someone waste a neg on this? It's the right answer, even if it has a typo!

Ok, I should've seen this coming. Seriously - I run out of negs so now I hoard them like… well, like an OzBargainer. Who are you people with so many negs to spare? Bloody 1%-ers…

@Peck: Hahah I'm fine, just messing around mostly. I do run out of negs too fast though - by the afternoon I'm mostly scowling at my screen impotently when I come across stupid comments.

The people you are dealing with here are the TRS.
Very well known for their jovial, humorous and flexible approach to queues of people claiming GST back

  • No.

  • Fudge the invoice

Ask the seller if they can re-issue the invoice with a revised date. Normally that is not a problem. They can process a return and reissue the invoice.

I know quite a few physical retailers who do that.

  • Nope. There’s no flexibility.

  • Emailed them of this before. No chance.

  • It used to be 30 days. 60 days is very generous already. There has to be some cut off.

    • Arguably not. If you can show it's new, unopened, and taken out of the country, there doesn't need to be a time-limit cutoff at all. Say I'm going overseas to visit family/friends over the Xmas break and know they'll want certain things - it'd make sense for me to buy a lot of those now in EOFY sales if they're cheapest now.

      • It's not their problem that you want to buy things the cheapest though.

  • In the same boat. Invoice says 23 June, flight is 23 August. 61 days!
