My Toyota Camry Csi 1999 Fuse Box Is Clicking

Hi Friends.

Yesterday night I went for Uber Delivery, I picked up my first order from McDonalds and went back to car.

It didnt start, the fuse box clicking, I did jump start and manage to drive home, but again I parked at home and its not starting again.

Anyone have any idea about this ?

I don't think the battery is drained because all the in the meter are very bright not dull. Seems like something new 🙇🏼‍♂️

Please advise me if you have any experience of this things.

Clicking in fuse box/relay area is a sign that the battery voltage is very low, and it's pretty obvious if you've had to get a jump start. A few things could be the issue here, battery not holding charge, alternator not charging properly, poor earth and/or battery connections.

I agree with this. Sounds like a dead or failing battery.

Things like the interior lights and gauge cluster and radio are very low drain devices. Your battery can have 12v in it, but no storage capacity. So, things that don’t use a lot of power will still run ok. As soon as you want a lot of power, quickly, like starting the car, then the battery will fail.

The clicking in the fuse box could be any number of relays related to the starting of the vehicle. Quite often, when starting the car, most of the vehicle systems will be shut off so all battery power can be routed to the starting process. You might not normally notice these clicking noises because the noise of the car once it starts will cover over it.

      Change your battery.

Am I the only one wondering what happened to the hungry customers?

I'm still waiting for my maccas order.

Are you sure is not the starter solenoid? It's clicks when not enough battery power while starting the car.

  • You may have run over a Khoisan.

    • if only he ran over a kardashian

  • did you buy a 1999 camry to strictly do uber eats delivery in?

seems foolish to try to rely on a 20 year old car as a business tool…night one seems to have gone as expected

But yet a jump start proved that it was flat….

I picked up my first order from McDonalds and went back to car.

    And…

I did jump start and manage to drive home

Did the person get their Maccas order?

  • i thought you had to have a newish car to do uber and uber eats?

    • Possibly for passengers but for deliveries you may get away with a old bicycle :P

  • Simple, you have an electrical fault. There are relays in the fuse box, that are operating but not engaging the starter and or other circuits.
Get some local professional diagnosis, as it could be one (or more) of a few different reasons which are impossible to do without better psychic abilities online.

  • Start with the easy things first. Have your battery checked free by Battery World or Supercheap.

Don't worry about relays or solenoid. If it started with a jump start it is unlikely to either of those.
