Recommendation on Front loader washer

Hi Guys,

At this stage I'm currently in the market for a front loader and was hoping to get some recommendations on what brand to get.

  • Looking for a 8-10kg load
  • I want quality wash and that will last long.

  • Not too worry about the budget.

What are your thoughts on AEG brand? I was originally looking at miele and biosch.

What brand are you using and would you recommend it?

Thanks in advance.

  • We have bought a Bosch WAW28460AU based on online reviews, but we don't get to use it till our place is renovated in a couple of months.

Apparently this one is the same but has a drum light and aqua stop. But only at the good guys.

    • Thank you - is this model normally part of the good guys 10/20% ebay sale?

  • Strongly recommend Miele if money is no object, but wait for their sale if possible (rare) and then get one of the higher end models. Buy from DJs with discounted DJs gift cards for a further 10% off.

    • At this stage I'm open to some recommendations and see what are available and make a decision on what to get.

More focusing on quality and the cleanliness of the wash load.

Noted - Thanks for for the tips!

  • I saw the Bosch WAW28460AU at Bing Lee Clearance centre for $798 - around $200 cheaper than anywhere else; they had 2 left. With EOFY today you could get a better deal.

  • We've had Miele's and they are good. I agree that you should wait for when the discounts are available and it might be worth looking at models that are being superseded as there can be reasonable discounts with those. See if Sydney has a Miele outlet centre as well as it is worth looking there as well.

  • AEG seems to be highly dependent on the model type.

Beko BFL853ADW looks very good and comes with a 5 year warranty. It comes with autodosing and 1400rpm plus a lot of other features in line with Siemens IQ800 and other high end models. Washes really good.

    • The model they were trying to sell me is the AEG 10kg - LF8C1612A.

Not sure if they are just recommending it just to get the sale target up or AEG is paying them at a higher commission for that particular brand/model.

      • Dunno, but TGG were really pushing AEG dishwashers on us too went we went recently.

      • If you read the reviews on the AEG website (they get reviews on website by offering prizes to write reviews) they are vastly different than on productreviews.com.au

Only AEG ovens are still Made in Germany. I believe Electrolux has moved the washing machines/dryers to Poland and Turkey. Some are also made by Gorenje in Slovenia.

For the money, they charge I would rather get a Siemens IQ800 or IQ700- Made in Germany (same machine as the high-end Bosch- Series 8) and comes with a 5 year warranty. The E&S Clearance centre often has great deals on Siemens. Otherwise, Miele is the way to go. Asko quality apparently has dropped since moving to Slovenia, but the designs and rinsing are class leading. I also like the 4 shock absorbers vs 3 in the Miele in most models.

  • We bought a Bosch based largely on Choice and other reviews and had no complaints. Cycle time is long, however.

On the website they indicate which models are made in Germany. We made sure we got one of those.

  • I have a LG 10kg front loader. it's 12 years old. does at least 3 loads a week. the front seal has just started leaking a little when it washes. Other than that it has been faultless
