Shopping Square Sent Me The Wrong Item 9 Months Ago

Last year September I purchased two of these power banks from Ebay

I gave one to my friend and took one for myself. Just last week I saw my friend and we both had our power banks and I put them side by side and realised I had the V1 and he had V2 even though we purchased from the same listing claiming it was V2, same order. I'll upload a picture soon.

Now it's been over 9 months since the order and I've probably since thrown the box out for my powerbank. Is it even worth raising this issue with SS?

Stop beating about the bush, are you going to give the OP a definitive answer?

    • I'm sorry I don't understand, please explain. What do you mean no?

    • No as in no no?

Too late mate. Come on are you serious.

  • +1

What are you hoping to achieve? compensation or an apology or a refund?

Awareness for other Ozbargainers and ideally refund/compensation, but I have zero expectations. I do know there is a store rep on here though who will probably see this.

      • I'm not saying it's right, but it's a bit late isn't it? You've used the product for 9 months and haven't noticed the differences at all.

It's been 9 months - if you made a fuss now, I wouldn't blame them if they told you to get stuffed.

        • Yeah it is, hence the no expectations. For a store that has had many deals posted here and probably many to come, wouldn't you want to know about them doing such a thing? If I had known I would have been more cautious when buying and I hope no one else gets ripped off by shopping square.

        • @Tuftsdude:

wouldn't you want to know about them doing such a thing?

Of course I'd like to know, but I highly doubt the mistake was intentional. They'd go through thousands of orders each day and mistakes happen.
I usually know exactly what Im ordering so when I receive something and it's not the right product, I'd contact them straightaway for a remedy.

Had I not noticed for this long, especially on a low value product, I'd hold myself partly responsible (for not even noticing) and just chalk it up as a lesson learnt for next time.

        • @bobbified: I'll give them benefit of doubt, but mind you it was the same order. I'm not fussed about it, lesson learnt, just letting others like myself know and will be more careful next time.

  • Probably out of time for both paypal and chargeback protection. In principle you're entitled to a remedy, but it's shoppingsquare so don't hold your breath.

The bright side is if you didn’t notice until you compared the two, then you’re probably satisfied by the product itself! Good luck! :)

    • Honestly not really. I had a 10,000 mAh V1 & V2 and I could tell the difference. The 20,000 mAh felt too heavy but I thought it is what it is. Does the job but it's pretty big and heavy.

  • Stop wasting everybody's time with this pointless thread,

There's more threads, move along if you don't like it.

  • Do you, OP, think it's worth raising the issue with SS?

That's the answer to your question.

Is it even worth raising this issue with SS?

Probably as you have nothing to lose, but I'd ask on an internet forum first.

  • Is there meant to be a substantive difference between these products? If yes, up to you, if cosmetic only, then kinda who cares.

  • Can't hurt to email them and see what they say. But as others have said, don't hold your breath.
