Which Oppo deal for 13y Daughter?

Hi everyone, I hope you can help as I’m not so tech savvy. My daughter is looking for a new Oppo to replace her F1s (2years old) and although its 5 months away I was going to buy it for her Christmas. In your opinions I can buy the Oppo A73 (which she likes) for $200 ish in Target or because I’m a Virgin customer and happy with the Optus service I can get an R11s (for $0) on a $40 plan with 5gb on a two year plan (which I'd use). The question is, should I take the Optus plan and give her the phone and find her a 2gb plan somewhere or buy the A73 for $200 and get her a 2gb plan?

She likes the Oppo and doesn't want to change.

I’ve confused myself (which really isn't hard) with the pros and cons and need someone else’s input please.

  • You can get better deals for $40 such as 15GB data (with unlimited data banking, calls & texts to au phones and selected countries) on Belong (Telstra network) or you can get 5GB (with everything like $40 except intl calls & texts) for $25. No lock in but say you are on it for 24 months like Optus and it equals to $600. Optus is $960, giving you a $360 saving and when you buy the phone for $200 - $160 saving! Thank me later.

    • The phone OP gets from the plan cost more than $500.

  • +1

    phone be cheaper by Christmas.
cant think of many phone that increase price in 5 months time

  • Get the one with the better selfie camera.

  • I am with Jeenee for my mobile provider. I pay 9.90 per month for unlimited cell and text within OZ and I get 1.2 gig of data; there are other plans with more data should you need it (10 Gig for 22.50, 23 Gig for 36.00) https://www.jeenee.org.au/ 1.2 Gigs allows me to check my emails daily and do some facebook time.

I have an OPPO A57 unlocked, which I have had for about a year and I love it. Though getting used to my fingerprint and using a finger drawn pattern to unlock it can be a pain. Ever try to remember a pattern made form dots? it is not easy - unless you make a very easy pattern. The selfie camera is said to be the best out there, but I do not use it much. The A73, I think is the newer model and it uses Facial + Finger Print Unlock, You can use either your face or your finger print as the password - both are speedy and convenient.. You can find both at office works for under 300.00 https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/c/unlocked-m…
