      It looks like it has the electrodes needed to measure the electric resistance between your feet; so yes. Not a great measurement, but an okay indicator. Source: Worked at a bone mass density place for a year.

      doesn't work. electrode goes up one leg and down the other…only measures vague guestimate of fat over legs which is next to useless.

      As for hydration I have the garmin version…also a total fail. Did a 150km bike ride in 40C heat, ran out of water and got severely dehydrated. I lost over 2 kg. The scales registered this as lost bone density, muscle and fat…reckoned my body water content had increased. Total gimmick and waste of money

        Under normal circumstances, I think they are great for monitoring changes. They may or may not have absolute accuracy, but some people are more interested in relative readings. i.e. tracking body fat percentage changes over the course of a year, with normal hydration levels. e.g. when you first wake up in the morning every day after a normal night before.

        Being severely dehyrated is not a normal occurrence so its modelling/algorithms would not be expecting that.

          yeah maybe.

          However, the fat measuring is gimmicky as well. If you are a person that mostly deposits fat on your legs then maybe this can give you a novelty indication but if you tend to store fat on your bum or guts then it really doesn't do much.

          I mean seriously, if you weigh weekly and record your weight then you will know if you are maintaining or changing fat levels. Use this with a tape measure for areas that store fat and you will be better off. I get your point but despite having one of the more expensive scales, the only thing I look at now is the actual weight

          Just to reiterate, it only passes a current up one leg and down the other, totally missing most peoples fatty areas

    Does anyone know with the scale - do we need to sync with the app everytime we weight in order to log-in the weight? Or the scale can store past data and will push in the app through every-once-in-a-while sync? Thanks
    I imagine it would be very inconvenient to take you phone to the bathroom everytime you weight.

      It stores data and push it through, but there's a downside if multiple people are using it with different phones, it would simply sync the stored data with the first phone that next connects to it.

    Got a pretty dodgy email from these guys… After submitting my order they sent me an email back in poor English saying, I need to pay an extra 25 dollars before they will ship my order due to some warehouse issue.

    Not sure what gives. I'd rather a refund which I've now asked for…see what they say.
