Am i complaining too much or is this part of life?

So recently things hasn't been going great. I mean nothing is happening as planned. Should i complain or should i just sit on it. Here's wat has been happening.

Scenario 1. Booked e-go.com.au to deliver a parcel for me. Paid for same day delivery and was told they will deliver by 4.30pm. Still no parcel. I sent them an email but no response yet. They have no phone number. Should i complain?

Scenario 2. Setup a new ANZ savings account and netbank. Wanted to badly use the netbank 2day so went to the branch cos i forgot the passwork. F***cking hot day too. I was told by the lady at the counter to call ANZ and they can set it up for me. Now i called ANZ only to find out i need to go back to the branch to be verified which i already did upon signing up. Should i complain?

Scenario 3. Placed an order with dicksmith. Product was in stock ready for dispatch next business day. Now find out it's on backorder. I complained and they said will be dispatched 2morow but can't guarantee it. Is this something to complain about.

Scenario 4. Commonwealth bank helped a thief take out money from my account by misidentifying this person twice. These were over the counter transactions with a stolen licence. I spent numerous hours and petrol dealing with this issue. Lodged a complaints with FOS and its been 3 months since. Should i complain?

Scenario 5: Lodged a complaint to the police about this id fraud thing. Its been 6 months now. 13 phone calls and messages left. No response. The guy handling the case has dissappeared and others can't help me bcos it's his case. Should i complain?

I mean wat is this?

    Wait until tomorrow then complain

Scenario 2. Setup a new ANZ savings account and netbank. Wanted to badly use the netbank 2day so went to the branch cos i forgot the passwork. F***cking hot day too. Why complain, it could be security steps, e.g. setting up an account will need you to have id

Scenario 3. Placed an order with dicksmith. Product was in stock ready for dispatch next business day. Now find out it’s on backorder. I complained and they said will be dispatched 2morow but can’t guarantee it. Is this something to complain about.

Depends what it was(i.e. The logitech products, of course it will be backordered, due to demand>avaliability)

Scenario 4. Commonwealth bank helped a thief take out money from my account by misidentifying this person twice. These were over the counter transactions with a stolen licence. I spent numerous hours and petrol dealing with this issue. Lodged a complaints with FOS and its been 3 months since. Should i complain?

Yes, 3 months is 2 and half weeks too long

Scenario 5: Lodged a complaint to the police about this id fraud thing. Its been 6 months now. 13 phone calls and messages left. No response. The guy handling the case has dissappeared and others can’t help me bcos it’s his case. Should i complain?

Nothing you can really do about that, i think

    I mean wat is this?

Bad luck buddy, i know your having a hard time but its life
other could have been worse off
who knows you could be bankrupt or possibly in jail now(scenario 4)

@issh hey thanks man. U really made my day.

      • no worries, hope you get back on track!!!

1-3 are minor nuisances compared to 4 and 5, which are a real worry. It's interesting that you put them last. They should be at the top of your list. 1-3 are just delays, but 4 and 5 are identity loss.

  • Do you think you have it bad… you should check out this guy:

    http://phillipsfactor.com/Word/

All will be better after you read about this guy's luck… website is up.

  • atleast (it seems)you left the commonwealth for the anz , i dont see the commonwealth with a falcon protecting your $$$ lol

    • i still haven't left comm. I have my mortgage with them but am in the process.

  • Scenario 4 is surprising. Most banks will have cameras installed and police can get the picture. That guy must be knowing you to pass ID like this for twice. Anyway, the bank is responsible for your money loss and refund you (to prove you with drawn the money, not someone else at the counter). Approach the manager or even higher authority for this.

Scenario 5, approach higher officials politely and tell them is over 6months, but police will not do much if they dont get much progress. That is why many credit card/car theft loses, a mere complaint is enough rather then solving the case by police for refunds.

Scenario 1 - if you didnt get proper response today, call 13 22 55 (CLC couriers, parent company) and see anyway they can give you contact for e-go.

Scenario 2 - not all banks are fast for netbanking. It is good to ask the person setting up your new account at the time of signup to show you a demo, but some banks got keyfob/other security methods that will delay your netbanking for many days.

Scenario 3 is bit of bad luck, but never rely online shopping for urgent items. My friend had lot of trouble in a delivery from MLN when he is about to go for an overseas trip and decided never buy online anymore!

ok so today seems to be a bit more lucky for me.

Called ANZ and complained about the run around to the branch manager. She sat up my pin number over the phone and now i don't have to make a trip down there.

e-go.com.au delivered yesterday even though they were 4 hours late. I had to call 13 22 55 to trace the order.

Dicksmiths are confirmed Dicks. Yesterday a "bob" told me your order will be dispatched first thing in the morning and u should get it by lunch time. I called them today again and i was told not possible as it is still on backorder. I accused them of false advertising on their site and wouldn't give up unless they sort out something for me. They've arrange for me to pick up the order from my local store. A bit of an inconvenience but it was free shipping anyway.

Comm banks has given me back my money but the case is that i want to move my mortgage from them and i am pursuing them for the cost associated with that. The cost of harrasment and waste of time. FOS did say i have a case as it has been definite fuck up of my account.

As for the police who are these higher authority people whom i should contact. I really don't want to get in their bad book u know so no wonder i am not reacting too much.

You know all these people read Ozbargain and they are out to get you. Probably relatives of issh ;-)

Seriously looks like you've had a bad time. As for the Police, try your local member its looks like you are being given the run around. Or a least write to the police minister,

    • rack, I'm glad most things have turned out well, and everything else looks like it will be OK, too. I think everyone has those really bad days and you've reminded us that things do get better :) Thank you for sharing.

  • rack

honestly… it sounds like you are venting

    which I so understand

    someone ID thefted you?? Wow

I had a small taste of that before everything was digital.. much easier to sort out

not much comfort I know ..but good luck ..!

  • Keep in mind that things could be worser and theres always someone who's in a worser situation.
You have every right to complain though if it makes you feel better.
    Lifes a bitch.

    Hey here's my annoyances:

    1. Closed my daughter's Vodafone account last September. There's a credit balance on the account. Rang up every month for 3 months to tell them to close the account and transfer the balance. Every time a guy in India tells me it will be done within 5 business days, next month still get a bill showing the credit balance. Used their online system to tell them all about this. Get email saying "we will respond to your query in 5 days". 6 weeks later next bill arrives, no response to email.

    2. I have a bank account and credit cards in the UK. Each month I am paying a lump sum off a card from my bank. I tried to do this by bank transfer to the account and sort code (BSB) of the credit card. My bank's security system involves sending me a text with a confirmation code which I type into the internet banking system to confirm the transaction. I type in the code, all done. 4 days later the payment comes back into the bank account - it has been rejected by my bank's auotmated security system. Call the fraud dept in the UK, they tell me they will authorise this one transaction but nothing they can do to prevent it happening again. Same thing happens next month…. I now have to call my bank each month and get them to do the same payment manually over the phone, all due to their ridiculous system.

    3. Been with TPG (phone/internet) since December. At the beginning of Jan I signed up for their $5 per month unlimited local calls option. Get this email:

"Thank you for activating the $5 Unlimited Local Calls feature.

The charge will be applied to the next renewal which is scheduled for
23/01/2011 and each subsequent renewal until this feature is
    deactivated.

Unlimited free local calls will apply from 30/01/2011."

Straighforward and clear, right? Well no sign of the $5 on my bill of 23/01 and service not marked as active on my account. I email for an explanation, get a response quoting T and C. Several more emails and replies which don't address my question then eventually I am told it will now be in my Feb billing cycle. That will be 7 weeks since I requested the service. I reply asking why it is not as per the email above, no response.

Why is it that things just don't seem to work any more? Is it because we are employing idiots? The staff in too many big corporations just don't seem interested or capable of doing their jobs properly. I wouldn't last in my profession if I behaved like that!

Everything is so hard these days, its very frustrating.

  • Scenario 4 is rediclous, commbank screwed me over for some money, not a lot, so im just gonna leave them instead of continuely complaining, since complaining to them doesnt even do anything. my last option is ombudsman but sometimes they ignore you coz they know its too much hassle to chase them. but leaving them is just as effective at hitting them back.
