If you are in NRMA you can get 2-for-1. If you aren't a member you can possibly join the NRMA Club Care membership, just for the discount.

Ask around for entertainment book vouchers. Theres a voucher in the ebook for taronga zoo. (i think its 25% off for up to 4 people or something like that) : http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/3779
