Has anyone come across a DAB radio with a slide type of ON/OFF switch?
I know this a strange question… but I find that the button ones don't stay on if there is a power outage…
I have old fasion radio that comes on via a timer… for security .. so sounds like someone is home

Don't be silly, they're way too quick for a sledge hammer.
I prefer to leave my gas stove on for a good ten to fifteen minutes, and then light a candle.
Now… You need to make sure that the gas is evenly dispersed around the house.
If you don't have mains gas, a couple of BBQ gas bottles from the servo will work, albeit they're a bit expensive.
Just get an industrial size battery UPS with a diesel generator for backup, and run it off that.
