Just received this email from STA Travel - have gone onto the website and the promo code works - Use promo code UA100 to receive $100 discount per person on flights from Australia to America. Just called STA Travel, apparently can be used on one way, return and multi sector flights that depart from Australia.
The discount only seems to work with United Airlines, does not seem to matter what dates you select though.
