23 - 24 inch Monitor under $200

Hey guys, missed out on the DELL deal just recently so I thought I'd post in here.

Looking for a 23 - 24 inch Monitor. Hoping to get one delivered (live in rural NSW) for under $200. Must have HDMI and be Full HD.

Been trawling the net for the last few days.

Like the look of this Monitor here —-> http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-LG-W2353V-PF-23-Wide-2ms-LCD-5000…

But was hoping for some suggestions from all you bargain hunters out there.

Regards John

  • I was searching and thus reseraching for the same thing a couple of weeks ago. 24 inch and under $200.
The one you have mentioned was definitely on my shortlist, as it's quite a good value monitor.

I settled for the BenQ G2420HDBL, which I think is amazing.

So I would recommend the BenQ G2420HB, which has HDMI (BL does not), and cheaper also as it's not LED.
Whether you could get it to rural NSW for under $200 will be hard though.

I chucked out my list I had that had about half a dozen monitors, 24 under $200, so can't help you much further than that unfortunately.

    • I have the 2420 with HDMI.. Good monitor.
Prices seem to have stagnated a bit on 23-24" screens. I bought mine about this time last year and paid $210 delivered. That seems to be about the mark now, perhaps $190-200 delivered… Except for the insane Dell deal!

You should consider what you'll be doing with the monitor:
16:10 ratio sacrifices physical width for vertical height and increased vertical resolution (ie good for documents and browsing as you don't have to scroll as much). In this size screen (23-24"), the monitor will run at 1920 x 1200.
16:9 ratio monitors are good for watching widescreen TV/movies. In this size screen, the monitor will run at 1920 x 1080, so you lose 120 vertical pixels (ie 10% less vertical area).

Most monitors are 16:9 these days…

  • I have a new 23" LCD Monitor for sell, please email me [email protected]

or if you want to buy from Dell direct

and use the 15% off coupon that's circulating around whirlpool/OzBargain and combine it with the 7% cashback from moneyback co, that should bring the cost of the monitor to $194.65 delivered before cashback, and possibly $192ish depending if you have a moneyback co account or not (as they charge $10/year for membership from your cashbacks and have a minimum $20 payout)

  • Thanks for the replies so far guys. Ill be using the monitor mostly for browsing however want it with the HDMI port so that when the missus is watching our main TV I can bring the PS3 into the office and game.

Will probably add a TV tuner card to the PC and use it to watch TV also on those odd occasions (thus saving me buying another TV for the office - Kind of killing 2 birds with one stone).

Ive noticed how prices have stagnated a bit and think I might hang off (not an essential item atm) until a good deal comes along.

  • Found this after browsing whirlpool.

    But no HDMI. Hmmmmm

    • +1

Wow… this looks like a great deal. $125 after cashback. I'm usually not a huge fan of Acer products, the stands on their monitors are crap and flimsy, shaking your knee up and down while sitting down (as I tend to do) will cause the monitor to wabble side to side…

If you only have $150 to spend and want a decent 24", its a nice deal.

  • Only issue with this one is you cant adjust the height
