Dell(TM) U3011 30" Full HD Ultrasharp Monitor

Anyone know when these are going back on sale? They were at 20% off at the end of last year! Any luck on a 25% off on End of Finanical year 2011 sales? At the moment the 15% off with the nrma coupon is the best that can be had! But its not good enough for me.

  • Just wait 6 months… everything IT drops in price.

The poxy little 30" will come down when the 32" becomes the "standard", and dual 42's are what all the geeks are buying.

Once a waiter always a waiter.
If he waits 6 months now, then why not just wait another 6 months after that for a cheaper price or a bigger monitor?

If he needs it now, then he'll get it now, otherwise ask "do I really need this".
Don't tell people to wait wait and wait. You can advise them on what's coming up and reconsider but answer his question and don't digress and tell people to wait.

      • Yeah my current 28" viewsonic that i've had for 5 years is almost dead.. Power button is warn out.. You wouldnt think it would be the first thing to fail but it is! LCD 100% zero dead pixels.

So i do require a new monitor and the dell looks to be the best option for an upgrade in size! without reducing my rez.. of 1920x1200 or LCD size of 28"

The Dell 27" is nice but i've seen it side my side with my viewsonic 28" and its 1.8cm's smaller..

Ooops! Sorry I forgot the [sarcasm] tags [/sarcasm] in my post above, to make the joke clearer for the slower learners out there in Ozbargain land. :-)

        • Adding a j/k in the post does help.. anyways i didnt think PC monitors will move to 32" not heard of 32" PC displays coming out any time soon! know of any??

Yeah - I always wondered what that "j/k" was that people posted here sometimes!

1920x1200 on this 24" is fine (I am about 350mm away from it as I type). I assume the 28" is OK for you… but as you go bigger you don't gain any extra "screen real estate" you just get bigger pixels.

If it's only the power button, why not repair the viewsonic? Then wait for a higher resolution monitors to become more common.
