Marley Spoon vs HelloFresh

Ozbargain,

What are your thoughts on Marley Spoon and HelloFresh.

Who is the best? Are they worth it? Value for money or are you getting ripped?

Personally, I've tried both and they have been convenient but I found their "fresh" ingredients to expire much earlier than supermarket bought produce, particularly Marley Spoon.

I've had Marley Spoon chicken stored in the fridge go bad after only 3 days..

  • I'm enjoying Youfoodz (second order arrived today), tasty and ready but portions could be larger.
I found Hello Fresh a good option and generally tasty - I could buy again with discounts, I think it's expensive considering that I still have to prepare everything.
Dinnerly is extremely basic, "low cost" that seems more expensive if you consider the ingredients. I've never tried Marley Spoon itself.

  • i wish people would specify what the Other were? I am between quality experiences

I formerly was Aussie Farmers meal plan customer and liked how it was just retail packaged items grouped into a meal plan.
full pack cheese, whole celery, whole spinach, whole garlic etc
when your meal required some cheese, stick celery, some spinach, clove garlic etc,
because i could get an extra day or two meals from the extra items.

Marley in some cases unnecessarily complex one was 1 hour of hands on labour.
They multiple times so far missing items, missing direction cards and the produce is short dated most cases 2-3 days from receipt so doesn't conform with lifestyle.
The meal cards are factory guides with insert 1 portion of garlic 1 portion of beef mince one serving of sauce.

The recipes kept extra secret they never mention units of any kind, measurements ml Cups G KG all non existent even on many of the actual foods.
    No fun or learning

Hello Fresh meals are plain but cards are much more fun to follow and learn adding extra seasoning and sauces from the pantry make them acceptable. but way too light on fresh vegetable variety Potato potato potato

Aussie Farmers was definitely very plain, generally all recipes were Fresh Veggies, a piece of meat and a dash of olive oil. But the quality veggies were worth it.
