Good Office Desks

Hi

I am in the market for a new office desk

I am planning on expanding my monitors to 3 around 27"-34" monitors so my current desk does not have that much real estate

I like a minimalist look so things such as drawers and such are a nuisance to me

What are some good quality stores to look at?

  • Officeworks, Ikea, Local Office Funiture supplier…

Dinner table, no drawers, large, solid, tough. I use a full size 8 seat dinner table and I had 3x 27" monitors for a number of years side by side, with room to spare for lamp, printer, NAS, stereo amp, pre-amp, headphone amp, headphone stand, keyboard/mouse, two document trays and a giant 50cm mousepad I keep all my things on like phone & pen.

  • Make one?

It's one thing to buy a desk because drawers are hard to make neatly.

To buy a small desk specifically without any features…

Go to Bunnings. Go to table legs. Buy 4 legs around the 70mm height.

Go to the timber section. Prefably cross layered plywood. They also sell ready table tops.

Put the legs on choice of table top. Like any table you'd get from a furniture shop, a large monitor in the middle will cause the table to sag over time. Remove the legs, route 13mm square longitudinally so it goes to the leg on the other side. Repeat for other pair of legs. Insert 13mm square steel extrusion. Replace legs.

Most solid table you'll get. And no obstructive reinforcements like you see on typical dining tables to cramp your leg room.

  • Go and use google…theres an idea loser
