Pretty good fun but if you hate being ganked by high levels all the time I would play on a PvE server till you get the hang of things.
So are there dedicated public servers to play on like a mmo? Just watched a quick YouTube review and the start of the game gave off a minecraft feel where you have to have your own server or join a private server
There are servers yes. Each can hold usually around 30-70 people at a time. There is official and publicly run servers. Difference between the 2 is the official always have 1x rates. So 1x exp, 1x harvesting etc. Publicly run servers can often have many times exp, harvesting etc to alleviate the massive grind. Can also play offline if that is your thing or run a server and set it to private with a password for you and mates to play on.
Plenty of Official servers around. You have typically 3 types of server play style:
* PvE 24/7
* PvP 24/7
* PvP at set hours. One of the ones I'm on allows for PvP between 7pm-11:30pm AEST only.
Whilest there will always be those who like to gank, I've found it's not as bad as other games.
