Family Travel Insurance for Multi-Passport Trip

We are looking for family travel insurance (2 adult, 2 toddlers) which provides coverage for trips when one of the family members is flying on two different passports (one in maiden name & one in married name), as we are flying to multiple countries.

I have the CBA Gold Awards Card, which apparently has free international travel insurance irrespective of whether the travel expenses were incurred on the CBA Credit Card.

But I don't know whether the complimentary insurance would cover our needs, also I don't know whether I need insurance cover for the transit country.

I also recall that the excess charged to make claims was fairly high a few years ago.

If I need to obtain independent travel insurance, Which are the best insurance providers these days that would cover the above circumstances.

In terms of coverage, we are looking for:

• Unlimited Medical Coverage
• Cancellation Coverage: min. $5k
• Lost Luggage (check in baggage, I see no point in insuring carry-on baggage for loss)
• Low to no excess <$250

  • Try google to find a pds, https://www.google.com/search?q=commonwealth+bank+travel+ins… and read through it and see if its covers. Same apply for any insurance company you try to get cover.

  • We've used travel insurance direct a few times locally, pretty sure their policies are fairly comprehensive.

  • Why can’t both passports be in your wife’s married name?

Will that country passport not reissue it for free? Or is there no time?

Also why not provide the actual countries. You’ll get more helpful responses!

I may be a bit naive here but what does travelling on multiple passports have to do with travel insurance? As far as I know, there's no conditions in any travel insurance that stipulates that travellers only be travelling on one specific passport for the trip.

    • Agreed. Question doesn’t appear sensible, but could be trivially answered with a call to bank in any case.
