Needing a Tonne of JB Hi-Fi Gift Cards - What's The Best Way to Buy?

Hi!
I'm in the process of buying a TV, and I'm trying to get the best discount possible. I managed to grab some JB cards at 7.5% off from Holden Rewards, but that offer has ended now, and while Holden and AGL offer the JB cards at 5% off, the 1% CC surcharge eats into that a bit. What's my next best bet? Can I buy WISH gift cards and then buy JB cards that way? Or can you not buy a gift card with a gift card? What are your insider tips?

Thanks for your help!

  • Post it in classified and see if someone can help.

    • That's a good thought, thank you for the suggestion.

      • Bummer. I'm too new for the classifieds, and no one appears to be selling JB at the moment.

  • AGL offer the JB cards at 5% off, the 1% CC surcharge eats into that a bit

Can't you pay for it via bank transfer instead to avoid the 1% surcharge?

    • For some reason the email about the bank transfer thing from AGL never comes through when I make the order, and the phone people don't know what to do about that. It's not in a junk folder - it just doesn't exist. Holden doesn't appear to offer a bank transfer option from what I can see.

Needing a Tonne of JB Hi-Fi Gift Cards

The average gift card weight is 5 grams

    1 tonne = 1000000 grams

    1000000/5= 200000

You will need 200000 gift cards

    • Ha, ha, ha. Too phunny. I come here for a bargain, but get a laugh.

So you see why I need more than 5% off then?

A gift card weighs around 5 grams. To acquire tonnes would take a fair bit of cash.

    • Hence the need for a discount ;)

  • Tried this deal? 7.5% off. Although I believe there is a 1% CC fee but still works out pretty good. I think Youirewards is also 6.5% with no fee.

    • I liked the sound of that Flare one, but the comments seem to be suggesting it's not entirely reliable. Some people are talking about not getting the gift cards, which makes me concerned. Have you have any experience with it? Sadly, I'm not a Youi customer, but I might ask around to see if any of my friends are members. Thanks for the tip!

      • The Coles gift cards I bought came instantly. Just pay by credit card to be safe :)

        • I signed up! But now it's back down to 5% off JB gift cards :(

        • @Alicepire:

Ah no. I'll have to update that deal.

  • Technically not supposed to be allowed to buy gift cards with gift cards, but in practice some systems don't restrict it, so ends up depending on staff training.

    • Well, here's hoping it's newbie day at Woolies tomorrow. Any luck with the self serve checkouts?

  • Entertainment Book - 5% off

  • I can help you buy at 7% with Lumo I think.

Since you are new, I cannot Pm.

    • Thanks Dennis, that's such a kind offer. I might try to ask around again and see if anyone I know IRL has Lumo, but if not I would love to take you up on that.

  • My wife has a $200 gift card she might be happy to part with lol
