Is There a Flights Site You Can Search "Leave Any Thrusday Return X Days Later"?

Back in the day adioso.com did it but they haven't for years.

Many sites have the duration option (e.g. kayak's explore, skyscanner).

But I haven't found any sites that support this search function. It seems like a no brainer - who doesn't want to be able to plan their holidays around maximising weekend usage. I imagine there are probably technical issues with it like having to run 43+ searches for the one search (most flights are only bookable/searchable for up to 10 months/43 weeks in advance). But hot damn would it be handy.

Does it exist?

    Can. I just tried.

    • How do you choose "any thursday" as your departure date?

    Adioso still has it.

On the Return Date, rather than select a specific return date you:

    Create a trip length
    Exactly/About
    "X" Days/Weeks/Months later.

The other way you can go is:
    https://matrix.itasoftware.com/

    When you get to "Dates"
    click on the option for:
    "See calendar of lowest fares"
Input a date (MM/DD/YY) into "Departing X and a month later"
    Input Length of stay

You should get a raft of dates over about a month with return fares
and you can just look down to see whatever is happening on X Thursday

If nothing is happening in July, then advance the Departure date and you can look at around 30 days ahead each time.

I can't figure out how to do it with adioso. I mean there's it's standard duration function but I can't figure out how to pick departing any thursday in the next 10 months.

https://matrix.itasoftware.com/ is nice, thanks. Didn't know about that one. It's missing AirAsia which is a mild bummer but still very cool. Bookmarked!

    • Oh hey, you can do a similar thing with kayak as you can do with matrix.

Previously I was only getting the cheapest day on that month results instead of a nice calendar view.

      Also missing AirAsia though.

  • flights.google.com

use the calendar, you can scroll up/down and left/right. the interface is really good and you can use filters. i don't recommend booking through them though — their kickback is quite high — once you found the flight you want, go search for it on skyscanner. the same flights I've seen had price differences of $50.

    • Use incognito too

      • does it make any difference?

        • Ya. When you keep searching flights, it gets picked up, then the price increases.
