eBay Plus Returns - What's Your Experience?

Signed up for eBay Plus to test it out. Sounded great that there are free returns however I have had trouble actually getting it to work. A few points to note:

  • I was provided with a return address by the seller but no instruction on how to get the return for free or a return label.
  • The eBay Plus chat went to the wrong person at the start.
  • The seller was a major third party retailer.
  • The link to their returns help article is broken

Just wondering if anyone has used the 'eBay Premium Service' and what their experience has been.

Message from seller after sending a return request.

Hi "My ebay ID",
We have carefully reviewed your RMA and approved it for a return under our Change of Mind policy. On return you will receive a cash refund. Please return the order to us at the below address via Australia Post:
"Return Address Here"
Your RMA number is: "XXXXX"
- Please write your RMA number on two sides of your parcel, and also include a copy of this email inside, with your return address.
- All returns must be boxed and packed securely for shipping, in original packaging if possible.
- Please ensure that all parts/accessories/documentation/software originally included with your product are returned unless otherwise advised, consequently fees may be charged for incomplete returns.
- Returns without an RMA number will not be accepted.
- This return authorization number is valid for 30 days from receipt of this email.

Once they refuse to provide a valid return address today, then tomorrow, the system will have an option for you to print a label with the seller's primary address instead.

      I'm not sure if I'm missing anything but for the trasncript, I just had a quick read but basically looks like OP wanted a shipping label, person said they can't provide it since the seller put a PO box number (which isn't allowed to return shipping) so they'll get the seller to give the proper return address before they give out the shipping label.

      If they don't fix the issue, they'll just give the sellers primary address through the automatic shipping label link which will be available next day.

      Feel free to correct anything anyone.

      • Yeah I agree from what I read, however if eBay don't give a hoot where the return package is going (seller doesn't provide a valid address in time/at all). OP then sends package back to unknown address, seller never receives package back and won't refund OP. Then have to go through further eBay help to force a refund and blah, sounds like a pain.

        • If the parcel stated delivered to the seller primary address, they cant claim they did not received.

          But what punishment will ebay imply if seller is playing around is a question mark, also if seller claim the parcel got damaged or the item is opened , who can prove?

    this is horrible, based on this I wouldn't paying them for PLUS

    Mine went flawlessly. Opened a return. Printed a label and sent it.
    EBay even forced a refund when the seller didn't want to refund.

    • I assume you'd got 100% refund?
      also out of curiosity, what did the seller say when they didn't want to refund? :p

  • EBay provides the shipping label. Go into your return and click generate label…

    • Not what it told me to do when I returned something on Tuesday

  • Out of interest, does eBay or the merchant pay for the return shipping?

    I remember reading in another thread about an eBay merchant banning someone who was returning items, but I wonder if Futu will hate me for a change of mind return under eBay Plus.

  • Mine's been fine, the only trouble I ever had is when the item is larger than what ParcelPoint process (w + h + d < 120cm or something like that and/or <12kg) ended up having to pay for the freight myself.
