Massage Deals - Unprofessional Conduct Problem

I get regular massage and my health insurance only goes so far in a year, thought I'd supplement it with some of the cheap massage deals advertised.

Of the 5 massage deals I have purchased, 4 therapists have been male.

2 x Wellness Centres - male
2 x Beauty Therapy Centres - male
1 x Physiotherapy Clinic - female

All the males seemed like nice people but they were all poor therapists. The massages would best be described as suitable for your wife/partner but not a professional environment. Way too much time spent on my inner thighs and the last one exposed and massaged my breasts.

Anyone else having problems with the massage deals and untrained staff.

Uhhh, you should not only be asking for your money back, but reporting them.
    That's not at all acceptable.

Agreed, that behaviour is highly improper & actually borderline sexual assault. Personally, I think the OP should notify the police if she is unhappy about it. If this occurred at a legitimate clinic then they need to be notified & possibly the HCCC as well. Doctors and other health practitioners are deregistered, fined & occasionally gaoled for similar misconduct.

If this happened to my missus I'd be down there like a shot giving the guy an MMA-massage! :p

im not judging you, but why did you let him/her expose your breasts. I would have slapped him and kicked him in the nuts lol

Yeah, you are judging; and based on some pretty unrealistic third-party hindsight too!

Health practitioners are in a position of percieved power & trust, and most people do not know how to respond when this trust is breached. It is far more common for victims to be completely stunned at the time. That's why these professions have strict ethical guidelines and codes of conduct, so that there is at least some deterrent for unscrupulous people who will take advantage of someone in a vulnerable position. That's one reason why these predators think they can do it, they know that realistically in that position; psychologically speaking; they have the upper hand.

      • agreed, I had my rights violated by undercover store security/cops one time, and until you process the situation in your head, your very gullible in nature until it ends

sounds like you just need to arrange for a female massuese for your own comfort regardless op, but definately take action on that one massuese that went too far

Sexual Crime Investigation Branch (08) 8207 5800. That's for SAPOL.

I'd definately be ringing up and asking about making a complaint. There is such a thing as a legitimate breast massage, meant to do with lymph nodes or toxins…but, if you did not request this then I would consider a sexual assault has indeed occured and the offender needs to be dealt with.

  • Some excellent information and suggestions, thanks all. I'm just not able to deal with the humiliation of reporting my experiences, at this stage anyway.

Oddly, I have the idea that these guys went along to some 'massage for couples course' with their partner/wife, decided they were pretty good and could make some money. I'm not convinced they even knew that what they were doing was inappropriate in a professional setting.

I'm wondering if some of these "Beauty/Wellness" businesses are unprepared for the number of voucher sales and are just gathering people off the street who say they can do massage. There were a lot of vouchers sold, so I'm definitely not the only one who has had these experiences.

Nothing like learning the hard way.
