I live in the Oakleigh East area of Vic and would like to make a lock for all the rooms in the house. Some of the rooms already have door knobs which locks when you press it but have no keys and some of the door knobs in the house has no lock so I would like to put new door knobs which have locks. Do you guys know any cheap locksmith that does this and how much do they usually cost?

She wants to change the lock mechanisms so they all unlock with the same, single key.
Installing new locks is actually quite easy if you have the right tools. Screwdriver, Drill and Drill Bits, wood chisel and mallet are all you need.
But I guess if you're paying a locksmith to come out and change the keying, it wont add much to the bill to get them to install new locks in the same visit.
Can't offer you any advice past that though as
1) I've never used a Locksmith
2) I live in SA, not Vic

not too sure about the locksmith though
