What Is a Good Dashcam SD Card

Hey there,

So currently using a Thinkware F750 with a 64GB Lexar 633x UHS-1 Micro card. The other day I don't know what happened but was wasn't allowed to write anything to the card anymore. Pop it in the computer and I'm able to read the contents on it luckily. Anyway did my research and concluded it was something to do with TLC and MLC memory types (although I'm not 100% sure.

On the look out for a MLC card at the moment and my goodness they are expensive… Nearly half the price of the Dashcam… So has anyone got any recommendations on what SD card is best to use?

Thanks

Avoid SanDisk They tend to not be Dashcam Friendly.
Just from my Experience…. I ended up getting Samsung for mine and has never let me down :)

i have the opposite then you.

Dead 3 Samsung SD card but none with SanDisk, it just seem luck draw these day with memory card

      • I think you maybe right tbh..
Saying that my current dash cam (BlackVue) says it doesn't support SanDisk, i think cause they want us to buy their branded ones (which ironically are Samsung cards anyways)

My Blackvue DR750S happily runs Sandisk high endurance 64GB. No complains so far.

      Avoid SanDisk ULTRA.

The SanDisk high endurance are made specifically for dash cams. They are the ones to use. But Samsung Evo Plus is also a good choice and there has been some great deals on those.

      • Any opinions or comparisons you could make on Transcend?

      • I've always used Sandisk Ultra in my dashcams only had one die on me after 4 years use.

    • I've heard that a lot specifically the Ultra seres but SanDisk now has the High Endurance cards which seem to be not too bad according to what I have read. Just can't work out the difference between the Transcend and Sandisk High Endurance

  • Very difficult regarding the thinkware series.

It's not about if the card is designed for constant writing. It is more so it just flat out won't work

I've got quite a few cards floating around, with all sizes/brands and none of them worked. Gave up and bought a 64gb thinkware SD card

    • Thought about doing that too. At least it'll give me a feeling that it is 100% designed to work. But so expensive
